Mount Somers is a subalpine area where some of the best cracks and volcanic columns in the South Island tumble down the north side. The upper cliff lines are steep and sustained, while some of the smaller outcrops tilt back to make friendly shorter lines. Some cleaning may be needed on the cracks.
The lower Pinnacles are fully bolted and slightly crumbly but still fun to climb.
