Hospital Flat East

From Wānaka, take the Mt Aspiring Road for 20 mins/17km. After you leave the lake and crest a rise, a green flat surrounded by crags comes into view – Hospital Flat. Park at the first turn-out on the left, opposite the West Wānaka Road turnoff.
Hospital Flat is a mix of conservation land and private land. Car Park Crag, the fenced flat and the low hill behind the cattle yard are on private property, so please don’t stray off the described access routes. Do not disturb stock and do not block gates with vehicles, especially the gate in the carpark. If the carpark is full, just park across or along the road further.
