If Panorama is too hot, there are some quality long slab/face pitches a bit further on, facing back south-east towards Glendhu Bay.
As for Panorama Point to where the trail first meets that crag.
Then pick up the faint trail, also marked with orange track markers, that keeps continuing up – skirting the edge of Panorama and helped by the odd chain.
The trail then turns left along a bench that runs all the way along the top of Panorama, then right up a brackeny gully that breaks through the next band of rock.
Zig-zag up a few more slabs to a rock cairn on top of the shoulder.
Heading left along the rim for about 200m brings you to a view south-east over Glendhu Bay and the rap station into Jurassic Park.
The first abseil is 5-10m to the anchor for Sea of Cortez. From the SOC anchor it’s another 30m to the ground.
Alternatively, you can go right of the rap station, contour down to find a trail through bush, turn left down the ‘Jurassic’ gully (with original primary forest, it has not been grazed or burnt) and look out for the turn-off left out of the gully to the bottom of the crag.
