Climbers Col was first reached (from the Tasman) by C J Bainbridge, J Clarke and W C Tennant in March 1903. The first crossing (Tasman to Edwards Glacier) was by Donald Divers and Jim Gilkison in the summer of 1935–6.

Approach

From the Haupapa Tasman Glacier: Route 5.29 on topo. From the névé between Mt Coronet and Pt 2258m, weave a route through the crevasses then climb a steep snowface to reach the col (grade II, 3+). If these slopes are cut off, it may be possible to reach the col by traversing Mt Coronet up the South Ridge and down the North East Ridge.
