Dobson River

Type

The Dobson (Ōtaao) River runs straight in its wide valley, beginning under the formidable steep and broken south faces of the Sealy Range. The upper valley can also link transalpine crossings to the from the Mueller, Hopkins and Tasman valleys.
To the east, the Ben Ohau Range carries awesome greywacke screes that give relatively simple if daunting access to the crest of the range. Little climbing has been done on the Dobson aspects of the Naumann Range.
