Located on
A prominent snow debris-filled gully (‘the escalator’) leads up towards Elcho Pass from BY14 442 354. The approach near the pass can be corniced and later in summer is on steep, loose rock. An alternative is to diagonal up grass slopes upstream towards about BY14 442 366 and then follow scree and snow back to the pass.

The upper part of the snowslope to Elcho pass can be quite steep and may require 2 tools if descending, or at least using a rope.
