This collection of crags is generally easy to access from the Borland Road and offer a variety of grades and styles on very good granite. The Watchtower, The Perch and The Den are the north facing walls visible from the Borland Road before the road begins climbing from the Borland Burn South Branch to the Borland Saddle. The Split Persona Area is hidden in the forest but is a stone’s throw from the road. The Dusk Wall is on the opposite, south facing side of the valley.

Access

Access is often marked with a cairn and is generally via flagged paths through a friendly beech forest. The strips of cut bush below the power lines can regenerate quickly and the lower parts of the access can be vague or overgrown after a season or two. A pruning saw is useful in maintaining or improving access through these lower areas of regenerating shrubs.

A steep start beside a small beech tree on left side of wall. The hardest part is getting over the first lip and the it gets very easy. A good route for someone starting trad
