Lendenfeld Saddle was first reached by Dr Robert von Lendenfeld and Anna von Lendenfeldt in 1884. The first crosseing (Tasman to Whymper) was by Tom Fyfe and Malcolm Ross in 1897.

Approach

From the Haupapa Tasman Glacier: Easy snow slopes on the Tasman Glacier side.

From the Whymper Glacier: The saddle has been crossed, but the Whymper side is a very long route, complicated by crevasses and icefalls. A better route would be to use Tasman and Whymper Saddles.
