Make your way up the south branch of Misty Creek. Cut out to the north through scrubby bluffs at 1100m onto a broad spur which leads to the north ridge and the summit.

Ascend the large gully upstream of Uaroa Creek to the broad tussock spur and the col south-esat of the summit. Either climb the rock arête of the south-east ridge or traverse snow slopes on the Makāwhio side around to the north ridge.
