Avon Burn

Leave the Avon Burn carpark in the Ahuriri Valley and head on up to the Tin Hut. Climb directly up a spur to join the Melina Ridge Track at 1480m. Follow the 4wd track until it begins a contour around the southern flank and trace the ridge along to the summit. To make a loop trip, drop off the summit heading north and then descend to the north branch of the Avon Burn which leads back to the Tin Hut.
