South Ridge

Start up the marked track 100m past the road bridge over the Timaru River. A kilometre on, leave the 4wd track and follow poles up the flank. The track follows the ridge but sidle Pt1410. Further on, the sidle of Pt1371 needs care. The marked track finishes before a well worn foot track - frozen in winter - sidles Pt1528 across to the wide saddle below the summit which is 200m above. 6hrs return.
