Gain the crest of the Bannock Brae Range, via either Uaroa or Misty Creek, and traverse east along the range and sidle to the saddle between Mahitahi Peak (1973m) and Stirling Peak (1991m). Deep ravines make for entertaining travel. Initial gendarmes on the south ridge can be sidled on the east. A fantastic viewpoint.
