Revelation Col is usually used en route to D’Archiac, not so much as a crossing point. It’s usually easier to use a gap in the ridge slightly higher towards D’Archiac, instead of the col itself.

Approach

From the Godley Glacier: A bluff now exists below the snout of the Dennistoun Glacier, making a direct approach from the Godley unfeasible. Instead, climb out of the Godley near Pyramus Peak and sidle around The Commander at 1900–2000m to gain the Dennistoun Glacier (route 8I on topo). In some crevasse conditions it may be better to traverse The Onlooker.
A direct descent of the South Forbes Glacier is usually not possible unless crevasses are well filled. To reach the Forbes River in summer conditions, it is usually necessary to traverse the moderately steep upper glacier to join the Separation Col route (route 8.63 on topo, grade II, 3).
