This used to be the traditional route to the Landsborough Valley, but it is not recommended unless the western rock slabs are free from avalanche danger, which is rare. A slightly slower but safer route exists via Barron Saddle and traversing Scissors towards Mt Spence.

popular. Avalanches are a danger on the western slopes whenever the slabs are
snow covered.
