From Whymper Saddle, the ridge to the summit is narrow and loose. The base of the ridge could possibly be avoided by traversing either side from the saddle then using a snow lead to regain the ridge. The easiest descent is probably the West Ridge. P1 Alpine (Commitment) II Alpine (Technical) 3+
