The Portals

(1 route)

This area is at the toe of Mt Dark's north ridge, at the entrance to the upper Bush Stream area. The routes here seem to require a significant amount of precipitation to form since most snow deposited in north-west storms is stripped by the gales. The routes have a north-facing aspect. Beware of rock fall in the area. Very little snow accumulates above these routes so they may be a better option during or after a storm.

Hanging Curtain WI2 60m

A fun short route without much fuss. Beware of rock fall in this area. P1 Climb the hanging curtain until it eases off and make a belay up on the left. P2 The moderate groove above. Gets a bit steeper than it looks.
