Follow the northern branch of South Temple Stream to its source, then angle up the slope to the wide col. An easy descent on the west side leads into the Ahuriri valley, while a 1km traverse in a
northerly direction leads to V Notch Pass and the Huxley River South Branch, and the east ramp of Mt Huxley.
