Ship Rock

A good collection of sport routes on pretty good greywacke, on the southern and eastern sides of the rock. Back in the 1980s, there was a stranded fishing boat stuck next to the rock – and old rusty cables can still be seen nearby, relics from the wreck and salvage of the Pacific Charger freighter, which ran aground in May 1981.

Approach

Walk to Baring Head, and continue around the coast another 200 metres or so. It's the very large rock just right of the track.
