Ngā Poutiriao ō Mauao, the Mauao Joint Administration Board, has decided not to allow climbing on Mauao (Mt Maunganui). The bolts were removed in 2021.

Right of Simone, is a common start for several routes, up a groove of slightly suspect but well proven rock. Climb the common start to the first bolt then move leftwards and up to the belay. Excellent rock after the first clip. DRBB
