Original Route

Where New Zealand’s first great guide got his first taste of a summit. From the true left bank of the Callery River approximately 1km above the Burton confluence, pick a route onto the ridge rising from Pt 1123m to Pt 2063m, and follow this to the upper edge of the Leonard Glacier. Low angle snow slopes and a final rock scramble lead to the summit.
