Hopkins River to Dobson River

Head up the stream draining the basin south of Reticence to the 1000m contour then ascend tussock slopes to the south-east towards Pt 1713m. Sidle north into the basin and climb to the col between Reticence and Pk 2190m. From the col, descend the gully on the Dobson side and weave your way through bluffs (good routes do exist) aiming for the true right of the stream with the 49m waterfall. Continue down the true right of this stream until a defined bush spur gives access down to the creek that swings around to the south towards Kennedy Hut.
