Ngā Poutiriao ō Mauao, the Mauao Joint Administration Board, has decided not to allow climbing on Mauao (Mt Maunganui). The bolts were removed in 2021.

Some would say the best route on the Mount. This outing is unmissable - just look for the six shiny ring bolts though the roof.
