Ngā Poutiriao ō Mauao, the Mauao Joint Administration Board, has decided not to allow climbing on Mauao (Mt Maunganui). The bolts were removed in 2021.

The short route to on the left of the first wall. A steep start to the ledge and the onlypeg on the route. The crux is well protected by a single peg.
