Approach
Butler Saddle
provides good access to the lower Reischek and Rakaia Valleys. The approach from the Lawrence is
straightforward. To reach the Rakaia River from the saddle, sidle north-west to reach the spur leading
down to Meins Knob. At Meins Knob pick up the cut track that leads both up and down valley.
