The distinct left-hand aréte a short distance downstream from the Ocean Wall. Steep lower wall, mostly excellent hard rock with some bands of loose/weak rock. Named for several large Nikau palms which shade the base of the cliff. Helmets strongly recommended.

Shares first bolt with Elbow Sheep, then heads right up the steeper part of the face. Meanders a little, especially above the bulge where the rock deteriorates. DBA.

Clip the first bolt then step off the ledge onto the climb. Make a few tricky moves on the orange face, then crank through the sustained overhang. Right hand route of the crag.
