Mt Eliot and Pt 2021 metres can be climbed from the basin immediately to their east. The central
section of the creek draining this basin is gorged and can be passed only after an exposed
scramble on loose rock on the true right. If avalanche debris fills the valley, travel is straightforward.
Alternative access is possible via the next creek north, draining the basin south-east of
Pt 1949 metres. This is a steep, moraine-filled creek with one small moraine step before reaching
basins at the head. To reach Mt Eliot, cross the ridge south of this basin on snow and ice, and
then aim for the gully between Mt Eliot and Pt 2021 metres. The summits are a simple scramble
from here.
