The Main Divide can be crossed relatively easily between Mt Warner and Pt 2211 metres, with a good approach up a small glacier out of Bond Creek. The route then descends north into a valley under Mt McWhirter and a branch of the West Mathias, called Blind Creek in the 1950s in the Canterbury Mountaineer. This route can also be used to approach Mt Warner and Bonds Peak.
