This saddle straddles the Cloudy Peak Range near its junction with the Main Divide at Outram Peak and is the standard route between the heads of the Clyde and Havelock valleys.
From the Havelock River, climb straightforward tussock and then snow slopes, avoiding a few crevasses, to Disappointment Saddle. From the saddle head south, sidling on snowfields, and once below the ice cliffs descend the
true right of Agnes Stream on rock and moraine debris.
From the Frances River, follow the true right of Agnes Stream on rock and moraine debris. After avoiding ice cliffs on their south side, head north to the saddle then descend a small glacier, avoiding crevasses, and follow snow and tussock slopes down to the Havelock River.
Disappointment Saddle links with Perth Col and the Garden of Eden by a snow shelf east of Outram Peak – see the East Ridge of Outram Peak.
