Access to the south face of Mt Darby is easy, descend from Barron Saddle, then follow a gully up to the snow slopes beneath the face. Bengal is a 300m rock route at grade 12 which begins in the centre of the face on the right hand side of the black gully, crosses left through the gully to gain the left tending corner. Follow the broad ramp which leads to the summit.
