Buttons Buttress

This is the large bluff on the left edge of the Mangatoetoenui Glacier, about 150m below the Summit Plateau. Ray Button climbed three routes in 1983 with pupils on an advanced ice-climbing course: two on the front face of the buttress, and another slightly further up the gully on the south side.
