A remote feeling cirque of rock & ice away from the skifield but still easily accessible. Alot of potential for a variety of grades from WI2 and above, possibly some more challenging mixed routes within. Alike many other routes in the area, would be best climbed early winter season with a cold-snap.

Approach
3km walk-in, from the carpark follow the skifield boundary to the base of the old Ngā Wai Heke chairlift, cross spur above marked highpoint 1767 then follow the 1800m contour up the valley to the catchment. When approaching, the river is deep in places and snow-bridges may vary in strength.
Walktime
30-60 minutes depending on snow conditions
