From Lake Te Kōhua head to the saddle between Mt Tūwhakarōria and Pt 2178. The East Ridge will take you to a false summit (which is just lower than the true summit). To get to the true summit wrap under the north of the craggy skyline to gain the true summit from the west.
P.S. My head did not crest the summit. Must have been climbed before.

Approached from North wye up a steep gut past point 2071 and down to lake hope and past point 2080 then a spicy scramble behind 2258 and up to Summit. Returned down via nevis burn head tarn then over to 1659 and all the way past 2 mile hut via farm. South wye would be better as a return. Fantastic route
