Moraine Beach

Type

Local name for the long beach 2km east of Greenstone Point. There are sites for two small tents at the bush edge, about 50m from the east end of the beach which is right by the crag. The crag is a collection of slabs up to about 200m high.

Approach

By sea. The east end of the beach faces just east of north and is somewhat sheltered from westerly swell.
Approx 3 hours by sea-kayak from Deep Water Cove.

Marked on crag pic. 4 pitches of great slab climbing with some tricky moves
over bulges. Mostly bolted but some trad needed. Can be done with a singe
60m rope.
Follow marked track from the back of the campsite for 2-3 minutes along base
of hillside, look for the black fixed rope up the access shute.
