From upper Seddon Creek two cols are visible : the named col is the southernmost of the two, while
the higher northern col is at the head of the valley to the right.
Both can be used to cross to Stag Creek in the Waitaha Valley. Pinnacles make traversing between the two impractical.
To reach the easier northern col, follow Seddon Stream to the ridge at the head of the valley
(J34 421827 / BW18 321 211). Now head north across gravel slopes to the col between Pts 1956 and 2058
metres, cross the gully below onto snow slopes and shingle on the true right and follow these down
under bluffs to the upper Stag Valley.
The named southern saddle, at Pt 1852 metres, is reached from the 1700-metre contour in the upper
Seddon basin by climbing due west up a steeper and mildly exposed snow ramp. Travel is easy on the
Stag Creek side.
