Access directly from the Mueller Glacier is not recommended as it is generally steep, loose and subject to rockfall until the Ngakanohi Glacier is reached. Above here the last slope to the Col is steep. An easier approach to the Ngakanohi lies via the slopes diagonally below Maunga Ma, as described in Frind Glacier Route of Mt Maunga Ma.
