The Amphitheatre is the cliff-lined cirque below and west-northwest of Ruapehu Hut. Grid ref 308139. Mostly short mixed and ice climbs, mostly used for instruction. Some rock climbing has also been done here. Grades WI2–3, 10–20m high.
